This is exactly correct. I am a missionary in Uganda, Africa, and they are still marking their property just like this to this day. When we first moved in to our house, there was an outstanding property line dispute between our landlady and our neighbor. The dispute was over the placement of the marker stones that delineate the corners of the property. She claimed the corner marker had been erroneously placed, and that the property line was wrong. The disagreement occurred because of the "ancient landmarks" used to mark land. I have actually witnessed a real life application of this practice, and the consequences of "Removing the ancient landmark."

Assembling is coming together. The verse in Hebrews is in no way saying that we shouldn't come together...in fact it is saying that we should. The meaning that I am trying to draw attention to is the fact that people shouldnt forsake of the assembling together and returning to a former lifestyle as a result of persecution.

It is appropriate to use this verse when dealing with people who are leaving the church in order to return to a life of sin becuase of pressure or ridicule. It can not be used to try and prove that people need to be in church everytime the doors are open. (again, I'm not saying we shouldnt be faithful to our churches....we should, but this verse cant be used to prove that.)
